Executive Management TeamDavid Ramahi, President and CEO — Mr. Ramahi has been an investor and member of the Optomec Board of Directors since 1998; he joined full time in January of 2002. Under Mr. Ramahi's leadership, the company has set and executed a focused business strategy that has led to profitability and high revenue growth. Prior to Optomec, Mr. Ramahi was based in Belgium as the Director of European Sales for Rosetta Technologies, and following a successful acquisition acted as Director of European Major Accounts for Engineering Animation. Mr. Ramahi received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.). Michael Barry, Vice President of Corporate Development — Mr. Barry has 30 years experience in senior executive positions at a number of rapid growth high-tech companies, including his role as founder and CEO of a successful software start-up, Rosetta Technologies. Mr. Barry oversaw Rosetta's acquisition by the publicly traded Engineering Animation, Inc. (EAI), where he stayed on to serve as GM and Executive Vice President. Prior experience includes senior roles at Computervision and their Metheus spin-off. Michael Kardos, Head of International Sales — Mr. Kardos joined Optomec in 2003 to lead the commercialization efforts for Aerosol Jet systems. Under his leadership, The delivery of Aerosol Jet systems to the electronics and life sciences industries has become a global business. Prior to Optomec, Mr. Kardos was Vice President of Asia-Pacific and Latin America for Verisign, a leading provider of infrastructure services for Internet and telecommunications networks. Mr. Kardos graduated with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from M.I.T., and holds an M.S. in Product Design from Stanford University. Ken Vartanian, Director of Marketing — Mr. Vartanian has a proven track record of over 30 years as a senior manager in engineering, sales, and marketing roles in the high-tech industry. He was a co-founder with Mr. Barry at Rosetta Technologies, and subsequent to their acquisition stayed on as Vice President of Sales at EAI where he oversaw execution on more than $60 million in annual revenue. Prior experience includes positions at Honeywell, Computervision and Metheus. Dr. Michael Renn, Director of Advanced Applications Lab — Dr. Renn joined Optomec in 1999 and was the Principal Investigator on the DARPA MICE (Mesocopic Integrated Conformal Electronics) project that launched the Aerosol Jet technology. In addition to his management duties, Dr. Renn continues to spearhead technology and application breakthroughs as a senior research scientist. He holds a B.A. degree from Lawrence University in physics and mathematics and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia in physics. Dr. Renn was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado's JILA institute and a faculty member at Michigan Technological University. Dr. Renn jointly holds more than 20 issued patents related to Aerosol Jet. He has published more than 25 journal articles. John Lees, Director of New Product Development — Mr. Lees has more than 15 years experience managing the development, production and continuing engineering of industrial equipment for high-volume manufacturing. He has led international teams to technical breakthroughs in high-speed injection molding, precision motion control and numerous other technical areas. Additionally, Mr. Lees has expertise in outsourcing capital equipment manufacturing to domestic and overseas vendors, working closely with them to continuously improve quality and reduce cost. He was most recently a Senior Project Manager with program responsibility at Tetra Pak, a $12 Billion supplier of production equipment to the food processing industry. He holds a BSME from Univeristy of Wisconsin and a Master's in Technology Management from Chalmers University.
