In conjunction with the expansion, Optomec is looking to double its local staff.
Optomec's Aerosol Jet systems for Printed Electronics utilize a proprietary material deposition process to direct write high resolution electronic circuitry, components and even complete devices on 2D and 3D surfaces. The Aerosol Jet deposition process is highly efficient and supports a wide variety of electronic materials compared to traditional subtractive manufacturing processes. Aerosol Jet systems can be used to both lower costs and enhance performance of current electronic devices, as well as to enable the creation of next generation products, such as 3D semiconductor packaging, high efficiency solar cells and solid oxide fuel cells.
Dave Ramahi, Optomec President/CEO states "Since first establishing a presence in Minneapolis-St.Paul in 2002, this location has provided access to a strong talent pool, as well as a convenient hub for domestic and international customers. The new facility and expanded resources will allow us to better serve our growing base of users, and their plans for production roll-outs of our Aerosol Jet printed electronics solution."
Optomec is the world-leading provider of additive manufacturing solutions for high-performance applications in the Electronics, Solar, Medical, and Aerospace & Defense markets.
