LENS 500 Machine Tool Systems are built on a tool room vertical mill. Four LENS 500 system configurations are offered to make hybrid and traditional metal additive manufacturing technology more affordable to a wider range of industries.
LENS 500 ADDITIVE OPEN ATMOSPHERE SYSTEM
The LENS 500 Additive Open Atmosphere System provides high-value open atmosphere processing at the lowest cost. The system combines industry-proven LENS Print Engine technology integrated into a rugged CNC machine tool platform. All LENS Open Atmosphere systems are designed to process non-reactive metals, such as Stainless Steel, Tool Steel, Nickel Based Super Alloys (Inconel) Cobalt, Tungsten, etc.

The LENS 500 Hybrid Open Atmosphere System is the industry’s value leader, combining additive and subtractive operations on the same machine at a fraction of the cost of alternative solutions. Built on a solid cast iron CNC platform, the system features high precision ball screws, spindle, 8 tool ATC and advanced Siemens controls, seamlessly integrated with LENS Print Engine technology.

The LENS 500 Additive Controlled Atmosphere System is ideally suited for customers who prefer to use separate machines for additive and subtractive processing of reactive metal. This system incorporates industry proven LENS additive technology in a vertical mill platform with the spindle and ATC removed.
LENS 500 HYBRID CONTROLLED ATMOSPHERE SYSTEM
This LENS 500 Hybrid Controlled Atmosphere System is an industry first providing an atmosphere controlled environment to extend hybrid manufacturing capabilities for reactive metals and aluminum. By replacing the upper enclosure with an Optomec proprietary hermitically sealed chamber and gas purification system, oxygen and moisture levels can be controlled enabling high quality processing of metals such as Titanium.
