Presentation to Highlight Recent Developments in Aerosol Jet Technology for Higher Efficiency Solar Cells
Albuquerque, New Mexico, 2 April 2009: Optomec announced today that Dave Ramahi, Optomec’s President/CEO will give a Masterclass presentation on Aerosol Jet Deposition technology for C-Si and Thin Film Photovoltaics at the IDTechEx Printed Electronics conference in Dresden, Germany on April 6th. In addition to his Masterclass presentation, Mr. Ramahi, will present an executive summary of Optomec’s business plan and financial outlook during the Investment Summit. The conference will be held from April 6-9th at the Maritim Congress Center in Dresden, Germany; Optomec will be located in booth #58.
Optomec’s Aerosol Jet system is a breakthrough printing platform used in the development of next generation electronic devices such as high efficiency photovoltaic cells, light weight fuel cells, solder-free electronics, and more. Aerosol Jet is a Direct Write process that first aerosolizes conductive inks or pastes and then forms an aerodynamically focused droplet stream of the material. This Direct Write capability eliminates the need for screens or stencils required by traditional contact deposition processes while also enabling much finer feature sizes to 10 microns and below. “In addition to the wide variety of materials and substrates supported and the finer feature sizes, Aerosol Jet reduces environmental impact by minimizing the waste and chemicals that are part of more traditional manufacturing processes” says Dave Ramahi.
Optomec is the world-leading provider of additive manufacturing systems for high-performance applications in the Electronics, Biomedical, and Aerospace & Defense markets. These systems utilize Optomec’s proprietary Aerosol Jet depositon technology and LENS powder-metal fabrication technology. The company has a global customer base of industry-leading manufacturers.
