John Crowe – Chairman of the Board
Mr. Crowe has been an investor in Optomec since 2000, and his ongoing support and counsel have been critical to the Company’s success. He is President of John P Crowe Co. which acts as general partner to several small businesses, including software, real estate, oil field services, commercial product and agricultural interests. He has served on numerous Boards, and brings a wealth of general business expertise. Mr. Crowe has also been a professional securities trader since 1987, having traded on the floors of the CBOT, CME, LIFFE, CBOE and the KCBOT exchanges. He served as Chairman of the Kansas City Board of Trade in 2003. Mr. Crowe holds a BSBA from the University of Missouri.
Dave Ramahi – Director
Mr. Ramahi has been an investor and member of the Optomec Board of Directors since 1998; he joined full time in January of 2002 as CEO. Under Mr. Ramahi’s leadership, the company has set and executed a focused business strategy that has led to profitability and high revenue growth. Prior to Optomec, Mr. Ramahi was based in Belgium as the Director of European Sales for Rosetta Technologies, and following a successful acquisition acted as Director of European Major Accounts for Engineering Animation. Mr. Ramahi received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.).
John E. Major – Director
Mr. Major served as chairman of the board at Broadcom from May 2008 through May 2014. During his tenure, Broadcom experienced 80% growth to over $8 Billion in revenue and became one of the top 10 semiconductor manufacturers in the world. From April 2004 to October 2006, he served as CEO of Apacheta Corp., a privately held mobile, wireless software company whose products are used to manage retail inventory, service and deliveries. From August 2000 until January 2003, Mr. Major was chairman and CEO of Novatel Wireless Inc., a wireless data access solutions company. Previously, Major was chairman and CEO of Wireless Knowledge, a joint venture of Qualcomm Inc. and Microsoft Corp. Prior to joining Wireless Knowledge, Major served as corporate executive vice president of Qualcomm and president of its wireless infrastructure division. For approximately 18 years, Mr. Major held various executive and leadership positions at Motorola Inc., the most recent of which was senior vice president and chief technology officer.
Annette Finsterbusch – Director
Ms. Finsterbusch was the Fund Founder and Senior Investment Director of the venture arm of Applied Materials. From July 2004 through April 2011 Ms. Finsterbusch was responsible for developing the venture group’s overall investment strategy and execution plan. She sourced, led, syndicated and managed Applied Material’s investments while also managing a group of investment professionals focused on other venture investments. Ms. Finsterbusch was also CEO for two successful early stage venture backed technology companies. The first was Firefly, a company that developed innovative LED products and second was MindShadow.com, a technology spin-out of DaimlerChrysler’s Research and Technology Center, Ms. Finsterbusch received a Bachelor of Science in economics and geology from the University of Houston and a Master’s in Business Administration in Strategy and Finance from San Jose State University, where she was honored with the Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD) Award in 2004.
Mike Barry – Director
Mr. Barry has 30 years of experience in senior executive positions at a number of rapid growth high-tech companies, including his role as founder and CEO of a successful software start-up, Rosetta Technologies. Mr. Barry oversaw Rosetta’s acquisition by the publicly traded Engineering Animation, Inc. (EAI), where he stayed on to serve as GM and Executive Vice President. Prior experience includes senior roles at Computervision and their Metheus spin-off.
